New Executive Director Named
The Board of Directors of CrossRoads, the Valley Brethren-Mennonite Heritage Center, has just called Joan L. Daggett, associate district executive of the Shenandoah District of the Church of the Brethren, as their new Executive Director. She will begin her new role on September 19.
CrossRoads President Robert Alley says, “The VBMHC Board of Directors is highly excited that Joan has accepted our call to become Executive Director. She will bring valuable skills and experiences to implement our mission and vision and to interact with our constituencies. We look forward to working with her.”
Joan brings a wealth of experience and training to this new role, says Beryl Brubaker, chair of the Search Committee. In addition to her leadership role in the Shenandoah District office during the past 13 years, she is an ordained minister and served as pastor of the Daleville Church of the Brethren from 1989-1992 and Director of Christian Education at Tryon Presbyterian Church from 1994-1997. She has also been serving on the CrossRoads Marketing Team for the last four years.
Joan holds a BA degree from Bridgewater College, an MA in Theology from Bethany Theological Seminary, and in 2008 she completed a certificate in Nonprofit Management from North Park University.
Regarding her call, Joan says, “I am deeply committed to the vision of CrossRoads and look forward to working with Brethren and Mennonites as we share our beloved heritage and values with the wider community.”
